Dr. Barbara Neuhofer is a globally recognised thought leader in Experience Design, Professor at the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences, Austria, and Visiting Professor at leading European universities. She holds a PhD in Management from Bournemouth University and a habilitation in Business & Management from the University of Innsbruck. Her multi-award-winning research explores how experiences — across tourism, design, technology, and positive psychology — can be intentionally crafted to spark human transformation and systemic change. Ranked among the world’s top 2% of scientists, Barbara has authored over 70 academic publications and advised national and international organisations, including the European Commission. She is a sought-after keynote and TEDx speaker, consultant, and transformative coach, bringing science, foresight, and practical strategies to individuals and organisations worldwide. Her pioneering work has earned over 20 international awards, cementing her reputation as one of the leading voices shaping the future of the experience and transformation economy. Barbara serves on the executive committee of the Experience Research Society, sits on editorial boards of leading journals, and is a founding circle member of the World Experience Organisation — driving global conversations on how experiences can regenerate people, businesses, and our planet.
