Barbara Neuhofer has been awarded an Honorary Professorship from IMC Krems University of Applied Sciences, marking a significant milestone in her academic career.
For a decade, Barbara has been part of the IMC Krems teaching community, as an external lecturer in both Bachelor’s Tourism and Leisure and Master’s Marketing programmes, and teaching courses at the university’s transnational education initiatives abroad in Uzbekistan. Her work has taken her into international classrooms and learning environments, where she has taught and inspired students from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds.
Her collaboration with IMC Krems has focused on delivering innovative, research-informed courses in experience design, marketing, innovation management, and research methods— bridging academic theory with practical application. Whether on campus in Krems or in international partner institutions, Barbara’s approach has always been to create engaging, participatory learning experiences that leave a lasting impact on her students. She has also contributed with her expertise to internal processes and curricula development, as well as the organisation of the ISCONTOUR 2018 conference at IMC Krems.
Barbara says:
This recognition means a lot to me, both personally and professionally.
I’ve had the joy of teaching at and contributing to IMC Krems and its transnational programmes abroad for many years. Every time I stepped onto campus, I felt truly welcome. It’s been wonderful to meet and work with so many dear colleagues and students from all around the world along the way.
This honorary title reflects her long-standing commitment to transformative education and her dedication to shaping the next generation of leaders in tourism, events, and the wider service economy. It also marks a new chapter in her continued collaboration with IMC Krems, working together to prepare students for the emerging challenges in the future job market.
